Feeding the Rat
Pete Stetina—former pro road racer turned gravel racing icon—knows he should retire. His body knows it. His family definitely knows it. But when you're the son of a legend who held the Mt. Washington Auto Road Cycling Race record for 20 years, "should" doesn't stand a chance against ego. Pete returns to the brutal 7.6-mile climb to chase his father's ghost and claim the record for himself. Of course, things don't go as planned. "Feeding the rat"—that climber's euphemism for the stubborn, irrational voice that keeps you coming back when every sensible part of you screams stop—has never been more apt. This is a film about the beautiful, ridiculous difficulty of letting go, especially when the mountain has other ideas.
